Most trades businesses are run by people too busy doing good work to focus on growing the business. I get that, because I live in that world. I still shear alongside running Step Ahead AI, so I know firsthand what it takes to run a small, hands-on business.

After having my son, I needed a way to build something from home, and that's when I found AI. I was sceptical at first. But the more I learned, the more I saw what it could do for small and medium businesses, especially in the trades.

None of this is about replacing the people you've already got. For the smaller operator, it's the step between doing everything yourself and hiring someone full time. For businesses with staff, it frees them up for the things that need a real person.

Some will, some won't. The voice is natural and easy to talk to, not robotic. I never recommend trying to trick anyone, so it's upfront that it's there to take their details and get them booked in. Most people are happy with that, especially when the alternative is voicemail.

Usually 10 to 15 days from go-ahead to live, depending on what we're setting up. I do all the technical work. You just give me the information and access I need to set it up properly.

Through our first chat and a detailed onboarding questionnaire. The more I know about your services, your common jobs and how you deal with customers, the better it fits. If a customer wants a real person, they can be put through. The person who sets it up is the same person who looks after it with you. No support tickets, no account managers. Just me.

There's no 12-month lock-in. For phone answering or missed call text back, if the jobs it books in your first 30 days live don't cover the monthly fee, your second month is free. People stay because they want to, not because they have to.
